All four strips share one axis of 125 quarters, from the
third quarter of 1995 to the third quarter of 2026. Amber lines are era averages
over 1995–1998, 1999–2004 and 2005–2015, annotated with their value.
The fourth strip is a different corpus on the same axis: two rose markers show where
the diary stops and where the log begins, and the 20 months between them
are covered by nothing. Company and place figures cover the 464 annotated
rows; the heroes and the figures beneath them cover all 660. The strips and
steps for the first three columns run over the 659 rows that carry a
year and a month, which is why the cumulative line stops one short of the hero: one
screening in the diary has no date at all. In the public shape, people are counted but not named, and two venues that are homes are described rather than named. Every other figure is verbatim from the private cover.
